Product Description

The Xbox 360's answer to Gran Turismo returns in the most complete driving simulator yet. This sequel's goal isn't just realism though but accessibility, with plenty of features to suit every kind of gamer and car enthusiast.

Rival cars react to your every move, particularly if you get too close
The new rewind option makes a perfect lap a lot easier
Car models feature 10 times the detail of previous games, at 4 times the resolution
The new in-car view is just one of the new features

With hundreds of cars and tracks on offer the amount of choice could be daunting if not for the newly improved career mode. The game is able to analyse the way you play and the kind of cars and races you enjoy for the ultimate personalised experience.

The artificial intelligence of your rival racers is just as advanced, with some panicking if you get too close and all racing according to their own styles - not just staying stuck to the racing line. With an even more expansive suite of online options, all filtered according to your skill level, this may be the only racing game you'll ever need on Xbox.

Key Features
  • Real driving simulator: The most realistic driving experience ever, with amazing new features such as an in-car driving view and vehicle rollovers.
  • Garage greed: Over 400 cars from 50 different manufactures, all rendered in greater detail than ever before and moving at a super smooth 60 frames per second.
  • Track events: Over 100 tracks to race on, including the Le Mans course, and over 200 different events from circuit and drag racing to drift and timed events.
  • Chauffer driven: Optional driving aids include automatic-braking and a rewind feature - which lets you retry a section of a lap whenever you want.
  • YouRace: New online modes including in-game videos you can create and upload and extra livery customisation options and rewards for the best creators.

Forza 3 review

Review Date: December 2, 2009
Reviewer: R. Wright,
Forza 3 is probably the best racing sim out this generation. With stunning visuals, great gameplay and strong controls. This is a must have for any 360 owner and i will explain why:

Graphics:
The graphics look really smooth and sleek. All the textures and surfaces look like the real thing. And the detail inside the cars is immaculate. Not to mention the beautiful tracks with vibrant colours, great looking shadows and nice lighting effects. The main menu looks incredible clean and sleek with one of your cars in the background on a show floor. This game surely is a sight to behold. Plus the damage models look a lot better than Forza 2.
Graphics 10/10

Gameplay:
With over 400 cars to choose from and over 100 tracks to drive through all with different twists and turns and with each car feeling and controlling differently. This will keep your thumbs busy forza long time. Having such a huge car roster really adds some personality to the experience, you can buy your own car and drive it around a track! Of course you can use your favorite car in free play or you can buy it and use it in career mode in competitions. You can also tweak your cars features to make them better or control differently. And unlike most racers you can design your own custom vinyls and put them on your car! The control scheme is like any other racer and it doesn't matter wether your 7 or 63 you will still be able to grasp the controls. Every little thing was taken in to consideration when this game was made you can even take a picture of anything at anything offline. I am just scratching the surface with gameplay here.
Gameplay: 9/10

Career:
The game has a career mode that is ongoing. You rank up your driver level and car level. Ranking up your driver level will reward you with a new car. And ranking up your cars levels will provide discounts on the manufacturer. You could plunge hours into the career, earning credits to buy new cars, vinyls, tweaks ect...
Career: 10/10

Online:
The online community on this game is amazing. There is a market place where you can buy/sell vinyls, car setups, cars, paint jobs and video clips. Of course there is a multiplayer; with up to 8 players in a dew different modes. DLC is defiantly on the horizon as well.
Online: 10/10

Music & Sound:
The music in this game fits perfectly with its surroundings, its crisp and mellow in the sleek start screen but speeds up in game. The sounds of cars crashing and crunching sounds very realistic as does all the screeching of wheels and changing of gears.
Music & Sound: 9/10

VERDICT:
A must have racer, pick up ASAP: 9.4/10
The racing game I have been waiting for.

Firstly, I'm pretty naff at racing games. I bought Forza 2, and couldn't get on with it, then tried Project Gotham 4 which I also found very frustrating. Which is, as I said, because I'm naff at racing games and nothing to do with the quality of either Forza 2 or PGR4.

I have been searching for a racing game which can give a novice like me a chance to have a laugh zipping round a few tracks without crashing every 3 seconds, and give me at least half a chance to win a few races. And then, if I want to make things a bit more challenging, I can up the difficulty when I'm more confident.

I wasn't really all that bothered when I heard Forza 3 had been released. I just thought, ah well, another racing game which will be completely out of my league. I downloaded the demo from Xbox live just out of curiosity and was pleasantly proven wrong.

I switched to cockpit view and was bowled over at how accessible this game is, even to a lightweight like me. Gaming for me is about having fun. This game, with it's awesome graphics, excellent frame rate and addictive gameplay, is what makes video games great in my opinion. I cannot speak for the die hard racing game fans who want racing games to be as difficult as possible, but I'm sure the makers have tried to cater for all types of gamers.

I rarely buy any other type of game than shooters, but I'm really glad I went for this one.
Best Racing Game This Gen

As a massive fan of racing games I've been really disappointed in the racing games released over the last few years, you know the last few years have been bad when the best realistic racer is called "Need for speed" (Shift) but now we have Forza and true racing fans can rejoice as the game is excellent!.

The size of it is the one part of Forza that impresses me most, NFS Shift only has about 60 cars and online people only ever use the same 5. But Forza 3 has 400 cars across 2 disks and there's more being added every month in DLC for the game. This is excellent as it means the game can last you longer - particularly online which is less repetitive than usual thanks to the large selection of cars and tracks.

Forza also has some impressive graphics, although it doesn't look as good as the pictures released of GT5 it can still call itself the best looking racer ever released. All of the cars look better here than any other game and some of the tracks look incredible.

The only real downside to me is the price of the DLC cars, IMO they should be free, but hey, they charge extra for absolutely everything now!
Top Notch Driving Simulation =)

So I have just bought the Xbox 360 elite and decided to buy forza 3 because of all the positive reviews. I also relatively enjoyed racing games in general.

Firstly, the graphics are breathtaking ! clean, crisp and clear for majority of the game and the frame rate is a smooth 60 FPS so thers no lag or fuzzyness.

At first i thought the gameplay was ok but there was a lack of sense of speed. I then switched to cockpit view and was blown away. Again the detail is spectacular, but more importantly ther was a real feeling of racing! to have fun on this game you have to be in cockpit view ! completely and totally awesome !!

I have yet to try the online aspect yet, but am looking to improve myself first.

Finally the upgrade and decal / vinyl aspect of the game is incredibly comprehensive. The range of car parts is huge and you can modify every car you buy and improve different characteristics, be it acceleration, speed, handling etc.

The decals and vinyls also give loadss of variety and the final look of your cars is great !
I also know that you can buy others' designs and sell your own over xbox live and i really look forward to this =)

Overall Brill game and definitely worth picking up for christmas !! 97%

I enjoyed Forza 2 so thought I would give Forza 3 a go. I have not been disapointed. The grapgics are great and the game play is great fun. I am not an online gamer and certainly no expert. If you are a novice gamer like me and like motor racing games, this is the one for you. Highly recommended.
